Impala: a group and a vision

For Impala, investing is first and foremost investing oneself. Its Chairman describes his vision of the group’s activities in the energy and ecological transition. And three entrepreneurial stories explain how it is unfolding…

In this section

Trained as an engineer, Jacques Veyrat has endowed his group with a strong entrepreneurial culture since its creation in 2011.

After working for the Louis Dreyfus Group, where he first managed the shipping business, he created and managed for ten years its telecom branch, which he quickly developed through a series of acquisitions to transform it into Neuf Cegetel, a brand that was sold to SFR in 2008.

After this sale, he went on to manage the Louis Dreyfus Group until July 2011, when he created Impala.
Boldness, responsibility and flexibility are cardinal values for this investor-entrepreneur who – as a matter of principle – chooses to invest for the long term in ambitious projects with strong growth potential.

From the outset, Impala has focused on renewable energies (solar, wind, energy storage), in particular through the creation of Neoen, one of its flagship companies, which in just a few years has become France’s leading independent producer and is now present on four continents. But also through Direct Energie, which was sold to TotalEnergies in 2018, and through Eiffel Investment Group, an agile and innovative investor, which has become a leading financial player that supports, with debt or equity, multiple projects, particularly around the energy transition.

Impala is also committed to diversifying its human and financial investments in other fields, such as innovative cosmetics (Augustinus Bader, Laboratoire Native), eco-responsible fashion (La Caserne), product traceability (Edgyn, Inexto) and organic food (Califia Farms).

The list is far from exhaustive, and Impala’s teams are always on the lookout for new talent and new projects.

Impala likes to participate in the creation of companies (Eiffel Investment Group, Neoen, TagEnergy, Inexto, La Caserne, Augustinus Bader…) or to accompany entrepreneurs who are at the very beginning of their story (P&B Group, Edgyn, Direct Energie, Castleton Commodities International, L’Exception).

More recently, with Laboratoire Native, Impala has created a cosmetics player by taking over brands from other groups. For Impala, it is a question of organizing a rebirth of these brands, and this project is therefore also similar to a company creation.
