Impala takes over the Alès Group and continues its growth in cosmetics

Impala takes over the cosmetic activities of the Alès group and its flagship brands: Lierac, Phyto and Jowaé.

Paris, September 24, 2020

By decision of the Paris Commercial Court, Impala takes over the cosmetic activities of the Alès group and its flagship brands: Lierac in the premium anti-ageing segment, Phyto, leader in hair care, and Jowaé, a natural and accessible skin care brand.

After the acquisition of Roger&Gallet, an iconic brand of hygiene and perfume in pharmacies, Impala continues its development in the cosmetics sector.

The combination of the Alès group with Roger&Gallet will create a group with €200m in sales, nearly 80% of which will be generated internationally, based on four perfectly complementary brands, each in a specific segment of cosmetic care in pharmacies and parapharmacies.

In addition to the sale price, Impala will invest more than €100m in order to boost innovation and return to a solid and sustainable development.

In parallel with Impala’s takeover of the cosmetics business, the hairdressing division, comprising the professional brands and the specialized distribution network for hairdressers, is being taken over by its managers as part of a joint offer.

Impala’s industrial project will maintain all the jobs of the Alès group in France and Europe. It has received the unanimous support of the works council and the group’s employees.
